Eileen Fisher Business Grants Program
By Anna Strom on March 16, 2009 - 1:26pmEileen Fisher is delighted to announce that applications are being accepted for their 2009 Business Grant Program for Woman Entrepreneurs. The program is seeking applicants from wholly women-owned businesses that combine the principles of social consciousness and sustainability to create new businesses or invigorate existing ones with a solid business plan and strategy for long term growth. Up to five recipients will each receive a $10,000 grant, mentoring from internal Eileen Fisher teams and travel to New York City in early 2010 for a two-day workshop.
Company founder Eileen Fisher believes that now, more than ever, is the time to instill confidence in woman entrepreneurs. “Women have supported the company since the beginning, and have been essential to my success, both personally and professionally,” says Eileen. “I believe trust and support can go a long way, even if the economic climate is uncertain.”
“With the credit market tightening and small businesses finding it increasingly difficult to secure financing, it is important to support woman entrepreneurs,” says Amy Hall, Director of Social Consciousness at Eileen Fisher. “In this economy, we want to continue to inspire women to pursue new opportunities that move their businesses forward, and we see the grant as a bridge to that success.”
The Eileen Fisher Business Grant Program for Woman Entrepreneurs was launched in 2004 with a single grant to commemorate the company’s 20th anniversary. Since then, five grants have been awarded each year. Applications are being accepted through the company’s website (www.eileenfisher.com) until May 31, 2009.
