Looking Forward to SVI Hollyhock and the Hot Tub!
By Anna Strom on June 18, 2008 - 1:32pmIn three short months we’ll head to back to Cortes Island to host the 13th Annual Social Venture Institute at Hollyhock. This will be my fourth trek to the island and I am eager to return for the delicious organic food and excellent company of SVI'ers.
Last year first time SVI participants, Dale and Cindy Hogg, were inspired to create a legacy offering at the event. They provided leadership and inspiration and helped raise $20,000 from SVI’ers to provide solar panels for the hot tubs at Hollyhock. They also challenged future SVI participants to find ways to ensure Hollyhock’s long term sustainability. I can’t wait to see what this year’s participants come up with!
I am thrilled to return to Hollyhock knowing that we’ve significantly reduced the environmental impact of one of my favourite parts of Hollyhock. For more info, check out Hollyhock’s newsletter.
