Our Dear Friend Robert Huber's Memorial Service
By Joel Solomon on June 13, 2008 - 10:43amBorn in Nashville, Tennessee on December 12, 1949, Robert Huber died on June 9, 2008 after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. His life was an inspiration to many. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife and our colleague, Martha Burton, and by his family and friends.
Martha extends a sincere thank you to the VCH and VGH medical staff for their compassionate and professional care of Robert and for their kindness to his loved ones throughout his illness.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life is planned for June 16, 2008, at 3:00 pm at Unitarian Church of Vancouver, 949 West 49th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Tides Canada Foundation, 680-220 Cambie Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 2M9, for the benefit of the Robert Huber Memorial Fund for research on IPF and species recovery of the Vancouver Island Marmot, or to SYDA Vancouver Centre, where Robert served for six years on the Steering Committee.
