Maintaining a Financially Healthy Not-for-Profit
The legal and regulatory environment within which all not-for-profit organizations operate in Canada can be a complex and confusing - albeit necessary - component of effective organization management. The same regulations which make it possible to provide much needed services and programs on a tax-free basis with access to funding also create their own reporting, registration and governance isses for not-for-profit organizations.
In this full-day, interactive workshop, you’ll be introduced to many concepts within the world of regulation and legal matters, to help you identify key considerations which are applicable to your own organization, including:
- The regulation of charities
- The advantages of forming a co-operative enterprise
- The legal context of creating a social enterprise
- A comprehensive handbook filled with a case study, check
- list, self assessment test, articles and an annotated list of web and print resources.
Co-hosted by Vancity and United Community Services Co-op. For more information see Financial Fitness Workshops.
