SOCAP10 isn’t another conference. SOCAP10 is an evolving, transformative experience, evoking the future of social enterprise. SOCAP10 is the convergence of fragmented markets bent on doing good and a movement of those who have decided to put their money where their meaning is. Here’s where we’re headed:
Thought Leader Horizon Gazing: Jacqueline Novogratz (Acumen Fund), along with Matt Flannery (Kiva.org), Willy Foote (Root Capital ), Jay Coen Gilbert (B Lab), Woody Tasch (Slow Money), and Casey Verbeck (I4C) will be discussing “What’s the next thing to do? What’s the action that will make the biggest difference; the difference we need now?”
Representatives of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will discuss the foundation’s Program Related Investments (“PRI”) initiative including the rationale for charitable investment, the value of investment partners to leverage expertise and capital, and the foundation’s hopes for philanthropy in the social capital market. Remarks will be followed by a deep dive into their experience putting this PRI approach to work with Root Capital.
The Evolution of SOCAP10 Design: SOCAP10 is about “What’s Next?” From industry-focused design sessions to mobile networking, SOCAP10’s evolving structure utilizes ground-breaking forms of communication and programming aimed at building the market at money and meaning.
