Sustainability For Leaders Course – Level 1: Foundations (Vancouver, BC)
The Natural Step Canada’s Sustainability for Leaders Course - Level 1: Foundations is a unique program which brings together core concepts of sustainability taught by inspirational speakers and draws upon 20 years of practical experience. Early bird deadline is November 21, 2011!
Prospective Participants
This course is designed for existing and emerging sustainability practitioners who want to gain the knowledge, skills, and tools to take a strategic, systems approach to communicating, planning, and managing sustainability initiatives. Graduates are able to explain and begin to apply The Natural Step Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development to help their business, community, or organization take a leadership role in sustainability. There are no course pre-requisites.

The Natural Step Canada’s Sustainability Learning Programs are designed using a dialogue education approach to learning design and facilitation. You will actively engage in hands-on, participatory learning tasks that will help you dive into the content, apply it to real situations, and prepare to transfer what you learn to your business, community, or organization.
Learning Objectives
After taking this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the current sustainability opportunities and risks facing businesses, communities, and organizations
- Listen to stories and case studies from leaders in organizations moving toward sustainability
- Apply the key steps of The Natural Step’s ABCD methodology for sustainability planning, using a case study
- Present the core concepts of The Natural Step Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development in a short presentation and receive feedback from peers
- Strategize how to effectively promote sustainability in your business, community, or organization
- Reflect on how The Framework can help you take a leadership role in sustainability
