Account Manager Community Business
With exceptional listening and compassion skills, and the ability to translate Vancity’s Good Money™ brand promise to our members, you will have a minimum of 2 years experience in business lending, with strong business development skills and the drive to create impact in our communities.
The Account Manager Community Business, reports directly into the Regional Manager Community Business.
Key areas of accountability for this role are:
- Source, develop and maintain new and existing relationships in order to achieve budgeted growth, volumes, referrals and profitability targets.
- Assess, anticipate and respond to member needs to maximize the Community Business offer.
- Monitor assigned portfolio, identify credit risk and recommend course of action as appropriate.
- Authorize credit applications within limits and recommend/submit applications above authorized limits in accordance with credit application guidelines.
- Review all new credit Community Business applications in accordance with credit application guidelines.
- Provide accurate and complete information enabling the achievement of high quality Community Business credit applications.
- Source, maximize and leverage community impact opportunities and achieve increasing volumes through cross-division collaboration.

Qualifications
Technical Competencies:
- Solid business acumen in the context of the financial industry;
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills to provide highly specialized expertise and advice, address challenges and issues for the designated area, and represent the area across the organization;
- Solid knowledge of the relevant Vancity policies and procedures;
- Solid knowledge of Vancity strategies, functions and program;
- Solid planning and coordination skills to develop operating plans, processes, methods and standards for a unit and to coordinate delivery of programs and services;
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills to diagnose challenges and issues; develop innovative business solutions; and to assess risks and opportunities that may affect the designated area;
- Solid research and analytical skills to assess and recommend course of action on industry, political and economic trends, and to identify risks and opportunities that may impact the designated area.
Education:
The competencies for this position would typically be acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree/university level diploma in finance, economics, accounting or business administration.
Experience:
2 to 3 years experience in business lending and sales activities including 2 years’ experience servicing mission aligned members or equivalent experience. Volunteer and Board level involvement with social enterprises would be considered an asset.
