Recollective is a leading green building consulting firm focused on integrated design facilitation, LEED, Living Building Challenge and advanced building simulations. We are seeking a highly organized, self-directed and talented full-time Building Energy Analyst (aka Energy Modeler) to join our team.
The successful candidate must possess integrity and enthusiasm, as well as strong management skills. The position will involve working in a dynamic, innovative environment and require a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
• Demonstrate competency in a wide range of performance simulation tools that analyze
the energy performance of new and existing commercial and residential green buildings
• Data collection, energy model simulations using contract documents prepared by the
project architect and engineer
• Draft reports that communicate modeling results to clients and/or design team members
• Participate with clients and design teams through an Integrated Design Process, in the
capacity of challenging and identifying appropriate green design strategies geared to
improving energy performance
• Provide ongoing analysis through design and construction
• Take responsibility for project deliverables and outcomes
• Complete LEED documentation associated with energy modeling.
Qualifications
• Commitment to environmental responsibility and social equity
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent
• 2-5 years experience designing, or installing, or commissioning HVAC systems
• Familiarity with ASHRAE 90.1 and MNECB
• 1-3 years experience with IES-VE and/or eQUEST and/or EE4 and/or HAP and/or
TRACE
• Knowledge and experience in passive design strategies and energy efficient building
systems
• Strong attention to detail and outstanding ability to organize and prioritize work tasks
• Self-directed, pro-active, motivated
• Excellent communication skills (fluent English)
• Ability to work in a dynamic open-office environment.
Preferred Skills / Experience (nice to have, but not required)
• Green building research or consulting experience
• Experience with Ecotect, EnergyPlus, TRANSYS, etc
• Experience starting and completing at least one energy model on a certified LEED project
• LEED AP, or willingness to become LEED AP
• Registered or willing to be registered with local APEG as P. Eng. or EIT or with local
ASTT as certified AScT
• CaGBC approved Energy Modeler
• BC Hydro approved Energy Modeler
• Can speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
