EthicalDeal was born out of a mission of making GREEN mainstream. We use the group-buying model to introduce people to GREEN alternatives - making it easy and fun for people to discover their GREEN city!
Headquartered in downtown Vancouver, ethicalDeal is growing and needs some talented people to help make it happen. In general, we’re looking for people who know and love their GREEN city! ethicalDeal is a fast-paced and fluid startup – so you should be able to think on your feet, be hardworking, passionate and excited to join a growing, mission-based start-up that has a vision of advancing the GREEN movement on a city-by-city basis across North America.
We’re looking for a full-time Community Manager to grow and engage our community of ethicalShoppers through events, social media, promotions, online content and sponsorships. Community Managers play an integral part in supporting activities designed to rally the ethicalDeal community both online and off.
Do you love your GREEN city? Are you the go-to person when it comes to the GREEN scene? Are you the hub of your social world –a connector that knows everyone and everyone knows you? As a local Community Manager, you’ll be based in our head office and be at the helm of a vibrant, buzzing community of locals who love to discover their GREEN city through daily deals from local GREEN companies. Community Managers are driven, self-motivated, charismatic, great communicators and organized as they’re tasked with wrangling a slew of to-dos both on and offline. Every week, you’ll plan, negotiate and execute cool, fun and buzz-worthy events and campaigns. You’ll meet with ethicalShoppers, attend community events, see and be seen. You’ll do sponsorship outreach, connecting with local organizations and finding ways that they can engage with ethicalDeal. You’ll co-manage the local Twitter and Facebook accounts and brainstorm and execute social media promotions that engage our community in our mission of making GREEN mainstream. You’ll write blog posts, take pictures and manage interns. Above all you should enjoy cultivating, growing and nurturing a community. You represent our brand in Vancouver!
General Responsibilities
- Social Media: Create and share engaging content on Facebook, Twitter (Hootsuite), Youtube andWordpress. Brainstorm and execute online promotions, promote the daily deals, and grow our online community.
- Event Management: Develop, organize and execute marketing events and guerilla marketing programs (street teams, etc). Attend community events on evenings and weekends.
- Content Production: Write fun and informative content for our blog.
- Sponsorship: Find and negotiate sponsorship opportunities and partnerships with local non-profits and like-minded community groups.
Requirements
- College/university degree
- Experience with social media, community marketing, sponsorships, event planning
- Strong attention to detail and extremely organized
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
- Able to work with minimal supervision while maintaining focus and productivity to meet deadlines
- Ability to work on some evenings and weekends
- Strategically and creatively think in a fast-paced environment
- A valid drivers license
- A love for your GREEN city!
