Summary: The Director of Partnerships will enjoy building relationships and developing products in close collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders. This individual will possess strong business acumen, as well as creativity, passion, and demonstrated commitment to positive social change and social entrepreneurship. The Director of Partnerships will be responsible for generating millions of dollars in annual revenue, by attracting new corporate, foundation and other clients, stewarding client relationships, and effectively managing the account development and fundraising process.
Responsibilities:
- External partnerships. Creatively and confidently convey the value proposition of Ashoka Changemakers’ vision and services to current and prospective clients. Cultivate and deliver opportunities from new clients to Changemakers. Manage all aspects of account development process, most importantly closing revenue-generating partnership deals, but also including lead generation and qualification, screening of opportunities, collaborative development of engagement strategies, and effective presentation of those solutions in written proposals and oral presentations at high-profile events. Demonstrate the ability to leverage internal and external resources to better understand client’s goals and needs, from initial idea to contract signing to final delivery of product or service.
- Internal collaboration. Effectively guide the Changemakers team in designing/delivering a strong approach that addresses the needs of the project, the client’s goals, and value for social innovators. Generate compelling proposals and budgets that provide sufficient detail to meet client’s business requirements. Build relationships with cross-functional teams including business development, marketing/community, project management, design research, strategy, technology, finance and legal.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in business development: designing partnerships in collaboration with team, attracting new clients, closing major revenue-generating deals and stewarding client relationships
- Strong writing, proposal development and presentation skills
- Personable and interacts well with co-workers, clients and the entire Ashoka community
- Possess a strong intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit
- Have a demonstrated commitment to social change
- Familiarity with Salesforce a plus
