The Wilderness Committee is seeking an Endangered Species Outreach Consultant for the purposes of public outreach, engagement and mobilization in support of a stand-alone provincial endangered species law in British Columbia. The successful applicant will work in our bustling Gastown office, and will assist and report to the Wilderness Committee’s policy director. This is a five-month temporary position based on 16 hours per week (0.4 FTE).


Background: BC is one of two provinces in Canada with no endangered species legislation. Currently there are 1900 species at risk in BC including the badger, orca and western bluebirds.

  • Computer savvy with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work to deadline in a fast-paced office, to think outside the box, and to engage in critical analysis
  • Current drivers license
