Renewal2, a social venture capital firm, seeks an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Vancouver, BC team.

Renewal2 is dedicated to delivering financial returns by investing in leading environmental and social mission businesses in Canada and the U.S. Building upon our experience investing in successful high-impact businesses since 1994, Renewal2 focuses on underfunded sectors that are critical to a sustainable economy, early stage companies requiring investment capital and scalable businesses that can generate meaningful shifts in consumer behaviour.

Having successfully completed the raise of our fund in May 2010, Renewal2 has $35M committed to invest in early stage companies in the organic food, green consumer products and green building materials sectors. We currently have eight portfolio companies and plan to make and additional five to eight first round investments.

Responsibilities will include:

• Pre-screening potential investments for Renewal2 fit
• Private company due diligence
• Financial modeling
• Sector research
• Financial and social impact reporting
• Strategic support of portfolio companies

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years prior experience in venture capital, private equity and/or investment banking.
• Strong commitment to social and environmental change through business and innovation.
• Analytical problem solver with strong quantitative background.
• Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel within Canada and the U.S.
• Prior experience working with or for social enterprises would be an asset.
