Our Environmental Services Department has an exciting opportunity for interested professionals to apply
for the permanent full time position of General Manager (GM). As GM, this position is responsible for the
Engineering, Utilities, Central Services, Roads, Garage, WasteWater Treatment and Environmental
Stewardship programs of the Municipality. Reporting to the CAO the GM gives overall direction and
management to the Environmental Services Division, which provides Council, residents, taxpayers,
visitors and the Organization with leadership and resources in the area of water/wastewater, public
works and environmental operations. Additionally, the GM is responsible for short and long term
planning, management, maintenance and operation of the Resort Municipality’s infrastructure and is
charged with the implementation of progressive and innovative Environmental Stewardship projects.


Qualified applicants will have a minimum of ten years related work experience gained in a leadership and
strategic capacity. The successful candidate will be innovative, engaging and will be a strong team
leader. A proven track record in leading, guiding and mentoring staff at all levels and experience
managing multifunction divisions are key success factors for this role. Applicants will also have
experience in the area of Sustainability and Sustainable practices as it relates to this division. This
position requires applicants to be a Professional Engineer with a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in
Engineering. Applicants will also bring exceptional analytical skills, public speaking skills, presentation
skills as well as the ability to inspire confidence in others and building/maintain effective relationships
with partners. Excellent knowledge of municipal infrastructure and comprehensive knowledge of the
programs, facilities and services provided are assets.
