About us
The Whistler Centre for Sustainability (WCS) is an enterprising non-profit organization, with a mission “To lead communities and tourism toward a sustainable future.” The expertise of the Centre is derived from the experience in the development and management of Whistler’s award-winning community sustainability plan, Whistler2020, over the past five years, as well as through its increasing consulting work with communities and enterprises outside of Whistler.
The WCS provides consulting services to local governments in community sustainability planning, creative community engagement processes, energy planning and management, and indicator development, monitoring and reporting strategies, and to tourism organizations on implementing sustainability into their operations and practices.

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead, grow and manage our advisory services program.
About you
A dynamic team leader and manager, with at least 5 years of project and team management experience. A real entrepreneur, you love business development, have experience in the consulting field and have proven strategies in selling sustainability solutions. You have worked in the field of sustainability planning, management and implementation, ideally with local governments as well as within the tourism industry, and can roll up your sleeves and do the work as well as manage the project. You are equally competent at delivering a compelling presentation as with crunching numbers in project management spreadsheets. You are exceptionally organized. Writing proposals is something you enjoy, and you write winning ones, 75% of the time. You are passionate about sustainability and you walk the talk. You are thrilled to have the opportunity to leverage the opportunities that the 2010 Winter Games in Whistler brings to drive WCS business development and can’t wait to share your ideas. If you’re literate in web2.0 and social media interfaces, that would be a bonus. You’re lots of fun to work with!
