The Shareholder Association for Research and Education (SHARE) is currently seeking a permanent full-time Programme Director to oversee the expansion of its national education programme for pension trustees and related responsible investment initiatives. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone seeking the challenge of creating an expanded, sustainable programme that builds the skills and capacities of pension trustees and other key investment decision-makers. The Programme Director reports to the Executive Director. The
position is located in Vancouver, BC. Travel within Canada is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee a team responsible for SHARE’s education and conference programme,
including management of SHARE’s Governance and Investment courses (planning,
curriculum design and delivery, instructor and student communications and logistics)
and conferences (working with planning committees, agenda development, arranging
speakers, securing sponsorship and arrangements)
· Promote SHARE courses and conferences to meet enrolment targets
· Undertake a feasibility study and business planning for the significant expansion of
SHARE’s education programme.
· Develop and implement strategic initiatives to promote responsible investment in
cooperation with other SHARE staff
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
· Five years experience in adult education, responsible investment or a related field
· Strong decision-making, strategic planning and creative problem-solving skills
· Fluent in English (French an asset)
· Demonstrated ability to manage projects and build sustainable organizations
· Proven capacity to work independently and in a team environment
· Personnel management experience
· Ability to work with individuals at all levels of an organization
· Public-speaking and group facilitation skills
· Excellent oral and written communications skills
· Basic computer competence with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and Internet.
