ethicalDeal was born out of a mission of making green mainstream. Our flash sales introduce people to greener choices for everyday living. In our first year of business we were voted as one of the top startups to watch by Fast Company and were the recipient of the Better Business Bureau Award for Advancing Marketplace Trust and Innovation. Our community includes over 12,000 followers on social media and thousands of green-minded shoppers and businesses.

Who are you?
You love social media and marketing communications. Your dream job is being a community manager for a fast paced tech company. You are passionate about healthy green living and want to helps others live this lifestyle!

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for growing and engaging our community of ethicalShoppers using social media.

• Drive, respond and monitor engagement on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Blog)
• Promote deals through social media
• Research green living tips and share them with our community
• Develop and execute social media contests
• Create blog content
• Find and edit photos for deals
• Do web analysis to optimize and determine the results of your efforts
• Other marketing related tasks as required

Requirements:

• Be enrolled/graduated business degree preferably marketing or communications
• Be able to work independently
• Have lots of energy and a “can do” attitude
• Experience in at least 2 of: blog writing, social media, advertising, market research
• Bonus: Photoshop or equivalent design software experience, basic html knowledge, google analytics experience, social media platform experience (Timely, Hootsuite etc.)

Logistics:
This is an unpaid internship. Interns have the possibility of ongoing employment with ethicalDeal after the internship. All transit passes will be paid for by ethicalDeal and the intern will receive a stipend of $500 upon completion of the internship.

This internship is 4-6 months in length (depending on the selected intern’s availability). A minimum time commitment of 3 days per week is required and preference is given to full time. Our office is located in Gastown, close to the skytrain/seabus. A laptop and cell phone is required for work use.
We don’t expect our interns to go fetch coffee – we treat them as one of the team and expect a lot from them. In return you will come out of the internship with outstanding applied experience that can’t be learned in any school or program.
